Big bang

My (god bless her, I'm going to say 'bewildered') mother just rang me to find out if I was OK, and to see whether I was missing any limbs. I didn't have a clue what she was on about (I rarely do, this is nothing new), so I checked out the BBC website :

"A gas explosion in the southern French city of Lyon has injured at least 17 people and there may have been fatalities, police say."

Gosh. Unfortunately, I was 'rocking out' to a bit of Dusty (In Private, just class) at the time, so I didn't feel the earth move.

No doubt this'll cause more mayhem and gridlock to add to the general hysteria of rush hour. The traffic situation here is quite delicate at the best of times, and it doesn't take much to tip it over the edge.

At least the locals will have an excuse to enjoy their favourite pastime of avoiding the busy roads by driving on the pavement.

Pedestrians beware...

"Big bang"...hell, you got me all worked up. It's funny, these news reports....one day I saw one, and text messaged my friend in Orlando right away to see if he was okay....Odd, because he didn't even know that a small plane had crashed....and RIGHT BY his house!

Your Mum and me both. My brother mentioned an explosion in Lyon and I thought of you straight away. Why is it we always think the 1 person that we know of out of thousands in a place just has to be involved?

Well, it is a bit like Beirut, but not so much...it depends on what mood the locals are in! They've stopped burning cars in the streets - for the moment anyway!

And Aims, they do indeed drive on the pavements - when they think it will save them a couple of minutes - there are lot's of posts to try and stop it happening, but it happens!

Dear Lewis, if only it was a big bang, then I too would be getting more than worked up! Alas, just an explosion....

And Breezy, bless you for thinking of me! It's true, we never think of what a terrible thing this is for mankind, we just worry about the one person we know. We're wired a bit funny, us humans...!
