Trouble loves me

So, here I am, all proud of myself for not sleeping through my 4.45am alarm. For making my 6.15 flight. For arriving in Amsterdam before the dutch awoke for their morning koffie. For sleeping all the way.

But hey, the good times weren't to last. I've left my driving license at home. No nice rental car with music for me. Now I'm on the bloody train all the way to Almelo. Never heard of it? You do surprise me. Go any further east and you're in Germany. That's how nice it is.

Pissed off? Mildly. It's no way to start a week. Especially one that involves meetings in five countries...

Oh darn it. Better console yourself with some chocolate sprinkles, or whatever it is the Dutch sprinkle on everything.

But what about Egypt? Next episode please.

By the way Travelling, hope you don't mind but I mentioned your blog to someone I know who has a literary agent. I am convinced you have a book in this blog, or a TV series. Let me know if it comes to anything?

A Lewis a dit…

You know, I actually have been near there......to Enschede (right up against the German border) and also to a similiar-sounding city, Ermelo. Oh boy, can I tell you a story about being in Enschede.....shame on me.

It might not be all that bad - using the train - you never know who's pockets you'll get into.

Lane Mathias a dit…

Oh crap. What a start to the week ... and after being so efficient.

Trains are a great place to dream but I think you know that:-)

travelling, but not in love a dit…

Well, the first train was fine, the second train (change at Amersfoort) broke down and only got as far as Deventer. The third train got me there with minutes to spare.

Lord help me.

SM - god bless you and your literary connections - will let you know if anything happens.

Lewis - I want to hear about Enschede!

Aims - no pocket action this time. Might have eased my frustration....

Lane - not much time for dreaming - maybe tomorrow tho - it's the Thalys to Paris....
